Service Review for 2004 SSR April 2024 My SSR had a new battery installed, and I was told to drive it at least 50 miles to re-activate the monitors so that a smog check could be performed. I drove it all over Marin, and then I asked my son to drive to Petaluma while running errands, to rack up additional miles, and the truck would not start again at Friedmans lumber yard in Petaluma. I had the truck towed to Novato Chevrolet, where a broken shifter cable was found after doing a diagnostic. I had the truck towed to the dealership for service, expecting that all the needs of the truck would be expertly addressed at the Chevrolet Service Center, even though my repair shop in San Rafael was equipped to do the needed repair, albeit for a much lower estimate. I gave a complete background report to the tech, mentioning the need for a smog, and also that the lid to the truck bed did not close and needed to be addressed. He said that he would have the truck parked under a roof to prevent the truck bed from being drenched. When I came to pick up the truck, I found that no smog check had been completed, nor even whether the truck would pass, nor had the truck lid been activated to close. Since the Service Department was closed on the weekend, the Sales staff there could not and would address my issues. I called the tech twice andleft messages about my concern, but did not receive a return call. I am disappointed in what I expected to be expert and complete service at Novato Chevrolet, where I actually bought the truck in 2018. Renata A. Santerre melaken@aol.com 415-2722821
